Super Saturday!

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Krissi. She's hanging in there and knows this isn't going to be a quick recovery (mentally and physically), but she's a tough little girl (yes, she's still our little girl!). Triniti and Tierni are being such cute little troopers, taking care of momma!

What a great party we had this week!! You all are awesome! Here are your Top 5 most viewed links:

Hug those you love, right now!

I know I usually have a craft for you today, but I just can't post about it right now. I'll post it Sunday.

I got the call yesterday that is every mother's nightmare. As many of you know, I go over to my daughter's house every morning at 6:00 when she leaves for work to get Triniti off to school and bring Tierni back home with me. Krissi walks out the door and everything goes perfect. Until yesterday.

She had only been gone about 30 minutes when I got the call on my cell phone. Krissi was involved in a horrible wreck and was being sent by ambulance to the hospital. She takes I-70 to work everyday and some idiot (believe me, that's the least I have called him) was driving 100 mph in rush hour traffic and rear-ended her while she was sitting still. There were 11 cars involved in all, but Krissi took the blunt of the %$^&&* stupidity. She was in the far right lane and ended up with her car going the other way on the median. The police have no idea why her car didn't roll. She was on two wheels for 150 feet.

I know why, God was with her the whole time. That's the only explanation. She should not have been able to climb out of the passenger side window over the engine that was sitting there and still be alive! Thank you, God, for saving my daughter!

She's alive and okay. Severe bruising and sore. The airbag came out and her face is swollen with two black eyes and can't move hardly at all, but no broken bones, that we know of yet. She's out of the hospital and goes back today for more x-rays. She's alive and that's all that matters!

The idiot that hit her is in jail and the police have been wonderful to her! There were so many loving and kind people that took care of her when it happened before the ambulance got there that it gives us all hope in mankind!

I guess what I'm trying to say in this post is don't ever take anything for granted and kiss and hug those closest to you anytime you walk away.

That's Krissi and Triniti on Halloween.

Please, if you have any room in your heart and prayers, she and her little girls could use them now.

I love you, Krissi!

Wooden Hoop Bunny

You may remember the wooden hoop turkey that I made for Thanksgiving and since now it's Easter time, it's only fitting I make a bunny.

I love little projects that you can whip up fast and actually have everything you need.

I've got a ton of these 4" hoops. Don't ask me why, I don't know. It's hard to tell in the picture, but I painted it white.

Unfortunately, that is the only photo I took of the "during" stage because this was going on at the same time.

Yeah, not a great idea. Well, it was to them, but you should have seen the disaster afterwards! See the top of the table? It's all kinds of colors now. See Tierni? Her hair was a pretty color of purple. See Triniti? Her nose was blue.

You can probably already tell, but I used white felt for the face and ears, buttons for nose and eyes, and a paint marker for the mouth.

How that little bunny stayed white in the middle of the paint fiasco, I'll never know!

Crocheted Chicks

I was on Pinterest the other day and found these adorable little chicks at Red Hot Fibers and fell in love with them. The best part was that they were easy enough for even me to crochet!

I finished my first one and as usual got sidetracked and thought how cute it would be to have one in it's egg and the other one "out to lunch".

They really are so fast and easy to whip up! I just used Tacky Glue for the eyes and beak on this chick, but for the others that I'm giving the kids, I'll sew them on.

So fun!

I'm joing these parties this week.

Easter Bracelet

Jordyn (she's 9) was here the other night and said those 5 little words to me that make my heart melt, "Grandma, let's craft something together". I'm telling you, my heart turns to butter when she says that! So we went up to my craft room (decorating is still a work in progress, but it is now fully loaded and organized!) and here's what we came up with.

Now is where I have to tell you that I had pictures of the whole work in progress (even the picture that Jace took of a close up of my nose, which by the way, you would never have seen), but they were all loaded on my computer that crashed on Saturday. That 6 month old computer is now at the Best Buy/Dell Geek hospital and being fixed as we speak, but I have no photo's in the meantime. Boy, did I learn my lesson about not backing up my computer!

It quit raining here for a little while today so I grabbed the bracelet and ran outside to take these pictures.

When Jordyn and I went upstairs, we found a package of these little ornaments that I had bought to maybe hang on twigs for a little Easter tree. We thought of a better idea.

We originally were just going to use a plain washer, but with some of the little ornaments, it showed under them, so I mod-podged paper to the top of it.

Aren't those bails cute? They were new at Hobby Lobby. You know the drill, use E-6000 Glue to put them on the back.

Glued a magnet on the back (Gorilla Glue) and painted the sides of it.

There you go, you put on whatever you feel like that day! A lot of the "charms" aren't necessarily Easter, so the bracelet is good year round.

I really wish I had my original pictures of Jordyn to show you, not the ones of the inside of my nose!

Oh, and we really should give Greg a big (not too big, it'll just go to his head!) "atta boy" for getting me back on my feet and the fact that I'm even here. He ran out and bought me a laptop on Monday! Love you, sweetheart!

I'm linking to these awesome parties this week.

Little Lamb for Easter

You all knew it was coming, didn't you? I mean really, what would a holiday be around here without an empty liquor bottle?

For those of you who might be new here, I am not a lush! I have a friend who bartends at the Lodge where Greg belongs and she saves me wine corks and empty fun and unusual bottles. At least that's my story...and I'm sticking to it!

This was such a cute little bottle, I don't remember what it was, but anyway, I painted it white.

I made some ears with white felt and stuffed and trimmed the edges.

I used hot glue to glue the ears over the top and the buttons for eyes and nose. I drew the mouth on with a paint pen (love those things!).

Okay, now I'll confess and tell the truth. She started out being a bunny, but when she was all done, she looked more like a lamb to me.

So....

a little Easter lamb she is!!

I'll be linking to these fabulous parties.

Baby Blanket for the Littlest Viking Fan

I really, really, crocheted something! Brandon's friend, Tony, who is like a son to us, will be having a baby (actually, his girlfriend is) any day now. To say Tony and his dad are huge Minnesota Viking fans, is putting it mildly, so I knew the little guy coming had to have something purple.

I finally conquered the Granny Square, so of course I made it using those.

The boys keep telling me it's not really Viking purple, but hey, it's going to be for a little, bitty, baby. We need "baby purple"!

I got that little ornament after Christmas at Hobby Lobby for 20 cents! Score!!
I wrapped it all up with a chain stitched ribbon.

Toni (isn't that funny? Tony and Toni!) looked like she was about ready to pop a week ago, but I told her I still had a few things to make, so just hang on a little while longer. We'll see if she and the little guy listen to me!

I'm linking to these awesome parties this week.
