Fall and Sunflowers

When I saw this post from Ann at On Sutton Place I immediately ask her if I could share it with all of you! I think by now everyone knows that I adore sunflowers!

You have just got to see this beautiful post Ann did about Fall! Oh, and of course, sunflowers!
When you read her post, think of me when you get to the part about Acorn Squash with butter and brown sugar. We had that for dinner last night!

Zipper Flower

I was trying to clean my craft room and found a whole bag of zippers that I bought at a garage sale last year. Needless to say, cleaning stopped and I started playing with the zippers.

Who would have thought zippers could be so much fun?!

I started with this brown one that was 20" long.

I basted (with the thread doubled) all along the one side.

Then just pull your thread until it's a curly mess.

This part takes a little work, but just keep wrapping the coils around and around. I left my needle attached so I could tack it all down when I had it the way I liked it.

It just wouldn't be complete without a cute little orange button.

I glued a circle piece of felt to the back and then hot glued it to the headband and added another little piece of felt.

This zipper had the vinyl teeth but I still like the way it turned out.

I was so excited this weekend. A neighborhood near us had their annual garage sale and I got a brand new serger (still in the box) for $100.00! I have always wanted one, but I have no idea how to use it!

Eye Candy Necklace

I got the idea for this necklace at Target!

I was in the $1.00 aisle (love that section of Target!) and found these magnets. They were just too cute not to buy and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.

I took a small washer and glued a bail to it.

The magnet sticks and fits perfectly to the washer. Score!
I love when things work out like that!

One necklace, 6 different looks. It just depends what flavor you're in that day.

Sometimes the simplest things make me the happiest and this does! I love the way it turned out and need to go back to Target and find more little magnets!

This week I'll he linking Here.

It's a Party! #16

It's my favorite day of the week!!

It's Thursday, let's party!!

You all know the rules, but if you are new here, there aren't any!!

Link up whatever you want to share with us. I'll feature the top 5 most viewed links on Saturday and randomly pick one to feature next Wednesday. By the way, I don't use Random.org, I have whoever is around me the day I'm going to post to pick a number and that's the lucky winner! Sometimes it's Greg, sometimes it's one of the kids, and sometimes it's one of the grandkids and they all think I'm nuts when I start asking them to pick a number between ? and ?!

I would love for you to follow A Creative Princess while you're here because that would just be so sweet of you! If you want to grab an It's a Party Button, that would be great! Let's grow this party!!

Okay, Terri, quit talking and get this party started!

Feature: Craft Whatever

This week's featured blog from It's a Party is Kate from Craft Whatever. I'm thinking if we did that thing I always see on TV about your ancestry, we might be related! Who else besides me is all over the board in her crafting? I thought I might just have some attention disorder, but obviously, I'm normal! Just look at some of the awesome things Kate comes up with!

Please go see Kate and tell her she rocks!

Crayon Magnets & a Reminder

Today is the last day to enter the Giveaway so please be sure to enter! The Tinkeranniebelle blog and shop are just awesome and I don't want you to miss out!

After I made the shutter last week, I knew I wanted to make more of the crayon clips, but use magnets this time. Because I can't get anything out of my head once I think of it, I made them this weekend.

I love the way they turned out and see a lot more in my future!

They are just so simple! Just paint the clothespins and put a magnet on the back. I've got to tell you, I bought magnet tape because I had never tried it before and I really don't like it. It just doesn't stick so well. I don't know, maybe I got a bad roll, but I'm using magnet strips next time. I used Gorilla Glue to attach the crayons so they would stay.

That's all there is to it. Wouldn't they make cute teacher gifts?

It's Monday, let's all have a good laugh.
See this adorable little angel?

That's Tierni, our 3 year old granddaughter. She was with us the other morning when Greg had a Doctor's appointment. We were in the waiting room and she had to go potty. She and I were in the bathroom and she finished and was pulling up her shorts. I noticed she kept looking down in them and finally ask her what was wrong. She looked at me with this puzzled (and a little mad) look and said, "Grandma, who took my underwear?". Oops, forgot something this morning!

Just another thing to remember before you walk out the door, check for panties!
Happy Monday!

Show Off Shutter

That was the only thing I could think of to call it. You know, an old shutter to show off all those masterpieces!

Greg brought me this home the other day from a house they were working on.
It was wood and in really bad shape.

I started by painting it all black and used chalkboard paint on the slats.

I modpodged scrapbook paper on the sides and top & bottom. Notice I did the shutter upside down so you could clip the artwork on the slats. I used stickers for the middle and words at the top.

I glued crayons to clothespins to use as clips. I need to make more of these as magnets for the refrigerator. Maybe next week.

All that's left to do is hang those beautiful pictures!

I'll be linking Here this week.
